We offer the right balance of nurturing and teaching for our wobblers.

Wobblers are terrific learners, with an amazing amount of energy and an eagerness to try new things. Everything they do, they do at full speed.

Accordingly, our classrooms and lesson plans for wobblers are packed with activities to encourage questions, confidence, interaction, and most of all, discovery.

Our Wobbler Program includes:

  • Pre-literacy and conversation skills

  • Sign Language

  • Daily circle time for guided-teaching and vocabulary building

  • Group play and social skill building

  • Self-help skills including feeding

  • Spanish-language integration

  • Outdoor time for Gross Motor Skills development

  • Multi-sensory art activities.

The Wobbler Room helps naturally transition your child to the more structured classroom in our Preschool Readiness Program for Two-Year-Olds.

 (18 to 23 months)

The Transition  program serves children from the age of 24 month’s until the age of 35 months. The program is designed to, take advantage of the transition natural desire for a very strong sense of order. Louisville Montessori Prep School advances each child’s growth and development through a rich and well prepared environment designed just for transition.

The ratio of children to adults is never more than 8 to one with each child being assigned to a “primary care giver” who monitors that child’s schedule and communicates the child’s accomplishments, tendencies, and concerns to the parent on a daily basis.

Preschoolers learn through a variety of stimulating, hands-on experiences, all designed to support their development and growth. Several different learning centers are available all day, encouraging children to be creative and have fun while working in small groups. Learning centers promote cooperation and allow children to make decisions about how they’d like to learn and play.

Preschool teachers maintain an assessment portfolio for each child, which tracks developmental progress using  checklists and work samples. Portfolios are stored in the classroom with their journals, alphabet books, and other ‘work in progress’ — these materials are always available for parents to review.

Our Toddler Program includes:

  • Early literacy skills such as phonics

  • Self-help skills including feeding, bathroom, and dressing

  • Beginner math and counting

  • Music and movement time

  • Learning in a more structured schedule in preparation for a Preschool curriculum

  • Core Essentials for holistic learning

  • Science room activities
